Tarpaflex Tarpaulins on Standby for Aftermath of Hurricane Earl

The category four Hurricane Earl is currently heading for the east coast after rampaging through Puerto Rico and several eastern Caribbean islands– leaving home owners from the Carolinas to Maine facing an uphill struggle to protect their possessions from the tropical storm.

Tarpaflex, the Florida-based tarps retailer have two loaded warehouses of emergency hurricane tarps and suppliers ready to be dispatched, should Earl’s destructive force make land. The National Hurricane Centre in Miami has already forecasted catastrophic damage for those in the path of the hurricane, which could lead to evacuations in some areas.

Bob Page, CEO of Tarpaflex said, “It is vital that residents in affected areas keep an eye on weather forecasts and prepare to evacuate if instructed to do so by local officials. Try and keep a supply of tarps at hand for the aftermath of the Hurricane – they can be used to cover roofs in the event of storm damage and protect cars and other outdoor possession such as boats.”
Tarpaflex are well versed in dealing with the worst of nature’s forces, having made a sizeable donation of heavy duty tarps to Hope for Haiti following the devastating earthquake earlier this year. The firm’s hurricane tarps were shipped to the stricken island and used as emergency shelter and weather proof covers.

Already set aside for the aftermath of Hurricane Earl, Tarpaflex’s blue poly tarps are manufactured from a hardy low density polythene, laminated with high density polythene for strength, water resistance and durability. As with most Tarpaflex tarps they are 100% rot proof, shrink proof, UV protected and flexible to arctic temperatures so can even be stored away and then reused for the next Hurricane season.

Similarly, a warehouse full of silver and green heavy duty tarps has also been earmarked for mopping up after Earl sweeps through. With a 12 x 12 weave count, they are perfect for outdoor use. To browse the range and buy online, visit http://www.tarpaflex.com/

Tarpaflex First in Line to Help Clean up the Gulf!

Following the generous donations from leading tarps supplier Tarpaflex US, CEO Bob Page talks about his passion for the Gulf and his dedication to help support his home in Florida. The dedication goes further than simple donations; Bob is currently in talks with leading shipping giants UPS, offering a collaboration to get the heavy- duty tarps from both Tarpaflex US and Tarpaflex UK over to the Gulf Coast cleanup as soon as possible.

“It’s our eco system at risk here” states Bob, “The faster the donation, transportation and cleanup process occurs the sooner we can see results and hopefully a healthier, happier Gulf coast”. Tarpaflex have donated not only cash for the cause, the team has sent over pallets of tarps to the Barataria Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP) charity, which pledge to preserve and restore Louisiana wetlands and barrier islands.

The tarps were shipped to the BTNEP locations last week, and the selection of tarps supplied will ensure that all the volunteers on-site will have a water resistant, tough, durable tool to assist in the rescue of oil covered birds and sea life. Bob himself lives in Florida and the Tarpaflex industry is based in Naples; the Gulf oil spill is a matter close to his own heart.

“We’re doing all we can, and the versatile nature of our tarp products can not only help volunteers when rescuing injured and affected animals, but the tarps can be used when the reconstruction of surrounding wildlife areas will finally begin. It’s in everyone’s interests to protect and preserve our already weak eco-system, so working in collaboration with BTNEP is a hugely positive move. The Gulf beaches are a remarkable work of nature, and we want to work together with one simple aim, to restore the normality of which this devastating mistake of man has inflicted upon our home”.

To see the outstanding work which BTNEP do to preserve the environment and to read up on the Gulf cleanup process, visit the official website on www.btnep.org.

The Toughest Tarps in Town Travel to the Gulf of Mexico

The leading suppliers of tarps in the US, Tarpaflex, has donated hundreds of dollars plus offered free tarps to two charities that are helping animals affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Defenders of Wildlife and the American Bird Conservatory will both get monetary donations as well as tarps to help with their rescue efforts. So far 957 birds, 387 sea turtles and 47 marine animals are confirmed dead according to the statistics on the DoF website and a total of 1,681 birds, 504 sea turtles and 51 marine animals have been impacted by the spill.

The tough tarps will travel to the Gulf of Mexico if needed to provide shelter and protection to hundreds of animals. The shipment has been carefully selected by Tarpaflex to include a range of their strongest tarps, such as the Heavy Duty Tarps and Super Heavy Duty Tarps. They can be used for shelter and covers alike.

Each tarp is manufactured from tough, woven polyethylene made from a super tight weave at 16x16 per square inch. Each tarp is also water proof, rot proof, acid proof, UV protected and tear proof, making them ideal for tough conditions. They are also able to weather Arctic conditions which means they can be used in virtually any type of environment.

Bob Page, the CEO of Tarpaflex LLC said: “We are more than happy to help in any way we can and making a donation plus offering our tarps is the best way we know how. I feel extremely sad to know that so many animals have had to suffer because of the carelessness of a corporate giant and we have conveyed our willingness to help to both charities and they are more than happy to take us up on our offer.”
